Chickpeas, also known as garbanzo beans are used in many traditional dishes across the Middle East. Chickpeas are not just wonderfully creamy flavour-wise, they are also versatile enough to work with other flavours. These beans are rich in protein, fibre, vitamins and minerals. Due to their high plant-based protein content, chickpeas make an excellent replacement for meat in vegetarian and vegan diets. As they also contain a significant amount of fibre, they’re great for keeping you full for longer.
