Why Bentong Ginger????

Although Bentong’s ginger name has “Bentong” in its name, but a good Bentong’s ginger is produce at Bukit Tinggi. Compare to normal ginger, is thinner but the level of spiciness is higher and is actually named the “King of Ginger”, and price wise it can 4 or 5 times higher.

The farmer said that the ginger here is spicier than the normal because of the land, a ginger has to grow on the ground for 7 months to absorb the nutrition from the ground, it takes awhile to grow, and also after the harvest you have to let the land to “take a break”, to grow other crops, and after 4 years then you can reuse the land to grow back the ginger, that’s why is so expensive.
