This Pinktober, we’re celebrating the beauty and strength of the female body with professionally trained fashion illustrator, Lihuà. As an artist who draws so much inspiration from the female form, Lihuà explains her take on why celebrating Pinktober is important, saying “October is a month to highlight the experiences of breast cancer patients and survivors as well as those with a high risk or genetic predisposition for this disease. They all have stories and experiences to share from this journey, that’s why it’s important for them to feel connected and heard and to feel strong again.”

In conjunction with Pinktober 2022, we have invited 10 amazing, inspirational Malaysian women to join us for a guided painting session with Lihuà. All the paintings produced will be up for auction and proceeds will be donated to Cancer Research Malaysia to fund their research programmes. This painting titled “Burst of Radiance” was painted by the Chief Marketing Officer of lingerie brand XIXILI, Tara Tan.

Through my years of organising breast cancer awareness activities here at XIXILI, I have myself learned so much about the disease and been inspired by the stories. A repeated message that we seem to come across is the importance of early detection and how this is the key to saving lives. To all the breast cancer warriors out there, I am always inspired by your unwavering strength in the fight against cancer. Your fight and support for one other is an epitome of what happens when women and their loved ones stand together to fight a cause.
