A 3-Step Guide To Enhancing Your Wellbeing

by Stefanie | 21 Sep 2021

Staying home also means staying connected to yourself. It can be easy to feel unmotivated and almost as though you’re losing your sanity when you’re just surrounded by four walls 24/7. The best way for us to approach holistic wellness today is to do it all in the safety and comfort of our own homes. In light of that, here is a 3-step guide on how you can improve and enhance your physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing while you’re at home.

1. Eat your breakfast.
Our physical wellbeing is often neglected as many assume you’d need to be eating a salad or working up a good sweat to do so. This is where we’re wrong.

Eating your breakfast is ironically the first step to overall wellbeing – As much as it is the first meal of your day. Whether you’re getting ready for online classes or a full-day of Zoom meetings, you’ll need to ensure you’re prepped and energized to take on the day. Wake up a little earlier than usual and treat yourself to a hearty breakfast as you typically would for a normal day at school or work. Breakfast just helps keep everything feeling a little more normal and of course, perks you up for the day ahead!

2. Get an adequate amount of rest.
Now more than ever, we need to come together as a nation to ensure the mental wellbeing of our community is taken care of at all times.

We know it’s easier said than done – We need at least 7 hours of sleep per day to fully recharge our energy levels for the next day. Though in this day and age, that seems almost impossible. Instead, just be sure to take frequent breaks throughout the day. Snack on some fruits, play with your pet or simply go for a quick drive round the neighbourhood. These are simple yet wholesome ways to reset and realign your emotions besides alleviating your stress more than you may think!

3. Journal before bed.
We need to uphold our spiritual wellbeing in order to lead a fulfilling life and self-reflection is definitely a great start.

Set aside about 15 minutes before your bedtime to journal and manifest your thoughts and vision more efficiently. It’s one thing to simply think about what you want but it’s another when you decide to put those thoughts into action. Writing them down in a journal is great at helping you reflect on what truly matters – And how can you actually make changes to achieve them and be the best version of yourself.
