Motherhood takes you through a rollercoaster of emotions with unexpected twists and turns along the way. Being a mother means so much more than just giving birth to your child. It teaches you valuable life lessons and changes your perspective towards certain aspects because of the little life growing inside of you. It is a whole blessing that only women who have firsthand experience can relate to. It is a connection stronger than and incomparable to any other relationship there is, growing continually every second of the day. It is the feeling of unconditional love and that protective shield you have built for your child.

Motherhood comes with lifelong responsibilities that are more so blessings than they are burdens. You develop a more positive outlook on your everyday life because of your children. Waking up in the morning no longer feels like a struggle because you know there is a smile waiting for your outpouring of love. Stretch marks on your stomach and thighs are no longer an insecurity but rather a sign of strength and life. Washing the bedsheets at least twice a day no longer frustrates you as long as the wellbeing of your child is protected. Motherhood changes you for the better as you start having different priorities.

Motherhood evokes a sense of selflessness and thoughtfulness that is otherwise unachievable if you had not had a child of your own. You start thinking and acting, not for yourself but for your child. You may occasionally feel disappointed in yourself and lose bits of yourself in the process. You will feel physically and mentally worn out and may even feel like giving up at times.
