Incorporate some delicious food into your diet to lower your cholesterol.

1. Avocado



Avocado has a rich source of monounsaturated fatty acids which are beneficial to the heart and blood cholesterol.

2. Fatty fish



For example, salmon, tuna and trout. They contains omega-3 fatty acids that reduce blood pressure and blood formation in blood vessels. It is recommended to consume 2 servings per week.

3. Oatmeal



Oatmeal has a rich source of soluble fibre which is able to reduce LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol) and the amount of cholesterol absorbed from food food during digestion.

4. Food products fortified with sterols.



Sterols also known as stanols are natural plant substances that help to block the absorption of cholesterol and also help to reduce he amount of cholesterol present in the body. Food products that are normally fortified with sterols are juices, yoghurts, milk and margarine.

5. Nuts



Almonds, hazelnuts, peanuts, pecans and more are good sources of polyunsaturated fatty acids which are able help to reduce cholesterol level. Try replacing your high calorie food with nuts or maybe adding them to salad instead of your usual salad dressing.
