A new year calls for new beginnings and better changes to upgrade and simplify your conscious lifestyle. We are pleased to announce that our products will now be extended to have a 1-year best before date so you can snack anytime, anywhere with absolute peace of mind!

Why the change?
As working adults who are constantly on-the-go ourselves, we understand that we just get little to no control over our personal and work-life schedules. This can be really frustrating when we are trying to incorporate more conscious choices into our daily lives yet constantly having to worry about the nitty-gritty details of what we are putting into our bodies.

What is the change?
If you have been along for the ride with us, you would know that most of our ready-to-eat snacks such as our trail mixes and muesli only have a 6-month expiration date. This is because we believe firmly in using only all-natural ingredients to give you the highest quality and most nutritious goodness possible. Though this severely affects the shelf life of products too as we do not add any preservatives or additives.

Hence, we have worked tirelessly, undergoing countless lab tests to extend the expiration date to 1-year, offering you food that is just as organic and nutritious for you and your loved ones. Rest assured, we do not believe in compromising on anything, which is why we have successfully upgraded our plastic packaging in batches into some sturdy and safe aluminium packaging.

What exactly causes food to turn bad?
Firstly, it is important to know that microorganisms exist in all types of food, typically in the form of bacteria, yeast or mold. Over time and under the optimal conditions, they will grow and multiply, releasing toxins that could be incredibly harmful and deadly to the human body when consumed.

What are these optimal conditions, you may wonder? Well they are from the nutrients absorbed through moisture and oxygen readily available in your very own food products. By absorbing said nutrients is what causes products to spoil, which is why we are constantly working on ways to extend the shelf life of our products without having to add the nasty artificial preservatives and additives.

What does Signature Market do to prevent this?
Our products undergo 3 stages before being delivered right to your doorstep – Baking, Packing and Sealing.

1. Baking
Our products are slowly dry-roasted and freshly baked upon order at low temperatures to retain the nutrients within. Slow dry-roasting means we will roast for longer hours at lower temperatures. This helps draw moisture out of our products thus reducing the growth of bacteria and ensuring a longer preservation and shelf-life.

2. Packing
Food safety is our utmost priority so in our efforts to minimize and eliminate the risk of contamination, we strive to reduce human contact with your delicious snacks. With an upgraded packing facility and the use of an automated filling machine, our snacks are immediately transferred into a zip lock aluminium packaging, which results in a more hygienic packaging process before they reach your hands.

Furthermore, we also add silica gel packs into each packaging and they work wonders by absorbing moisture and humidity in the environment hence avoiding bacterial growth. This entire process ensures pristine and consistent quality of our products with the standardized settings of this machine.

3. Sealing
Last but not least, we use resealable packaging that comes equipped with 4 different material layers for all our products. This acts as an added level of protection against dust, dirt, unavoidable external moisture and also oxygen which could potentially serve as a breeding ground for bacteria.

They are sealed securely to ensure everything is safe from any unnecessary contamination thus extending the shelf life of our products. Additionally, we are also transitioning to upgrading our plastic packaging to an aluminium pouch, which ensures all the freshness and nutrients are securely locked in. What exactly is the need for this? Well an aluminium pouch, though appears as a very thin foil serves as a complete barrier against moisture, light, and oxygen. This preserves the quality, safety, and aroma of food products that are packaged within it, while requiring very little material. Foods packaged with aluminium are also safe from bacterial contamination, oxidation as well as moisture and light, which can compromise product integrity.

As our products undergo these stringent processes while being supervised by our Product Development (PD) and Quality Control (QC) teams, you are sure to have a more enjoyable experience with our well-crafted products consciously made from hearty and delicate ingredients, with our extended 1-year best before date.
