Recipe: Scones with Date ❤️

These scones are easy to make and sweeten with chopped dates. Serve perfectly with with your favourite jam and cream. Lovely as a snack and perfect for afternoon tea. ☕

🍧 INGREDIENTS:
- 2 cups (250g) self raising flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- a pinch of salt
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 cup (70g) chopped dates
- 1 small egg, beaten
- 150ml milk


🍧 INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 200℃. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar into a large bowl.
2. Rub in butter until mixture resembles breadcrumbs and stir in the chopped dates.
3. Combine egg and milk in a jug. Stir into the flour mixture to make a soft sticky dough.
4. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Blend until just smooth.
5. Cut the dough into rounds, brush tops with a little milk and place on a tray.
6. Bake about 10-15 minutes or until golden.>
