Hey Signature Market people! Natalie Ang has something up in her sleeves for you health NUTS today. Cool and chill Natalie came up with something for you mix nuts fans out there. Today's recipe will revolve around our Signature Market Wild King Honey, almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, pistachio kernels, cashew nuts, organic black sesame seeds. And I hope you guessed it right, we're making healthy energy bars! The perfect on the go snack for health conscious folks like you.
What so special about healthy energy nut bars??
When you make your own fruit and nut bars, you're able to control the ingredients you include, which can make for quite a nutritious bar. Choose unsweetened dried fruit, which contains only healthy naturally occurring sugar and doesn't contain the unhealthy added sugar. Unsalted nuts are also a good idea because too much sodium can raise your blood pressure.
Depending on the ingredients, other fruit and nut bars, that if you include some fruits in your energy bar, you might have more or less fiber. The nuts in the bar are a good source of heart-healthy unsaturated fats, as well as vitamin E, an antioxidant that protects your cells.
Ingredients:
• 1 cup almonds
• 1 cup pistachio kernels
• 1 cup walnuts
• ½ cup cashew nuts
• ½ cup pumpkin seeds
• ½ cup organic black sesame seeds
• 1 cup brown sugar
• ½ cup Signature Market Wild King Honey
• A pinch of salt
• Lemon juice
Steps:
1. Roast all the nuts and seeds in a pan for around 5 minutes. Set it aside.
2. In an another pan, add in brown sugar, honey, salt and lemon juice. Heat the pan until it boils.
3. Pour the heated sauce into the nuts and mix it evenly under low heat for 2 min.
4. Place the parchment paper on the tray and spread the nuts evenly on the tray.
5. Refrigerate for 2 hours.
6. Cut the nuts in bar size & ready to serve.
